Disability rights campaigner lodges complaint with Irish Rail
It follows an incident of verbal abuse.
Disability rights activist Joanne O’Riordan and her brother lodged a complaint with Irish Rail after they were verbally abused on the Dublin train last week.
The Millstreet teenager and her brother Stephen said they were shocked when the man began to abuse and swear at them after they asked a fellow passenger to move herbag out of the designated disabled space on the Tralee to Dublin train on Thursday.
Stephen had to move all the bags to make space for Joanne and her wheelchair as none of the passengers on board the train claimed the luggage.
A fellow passenger began shouting abuse at them and gave out about them for asking the woman to take her bag out of the wheelchair space and put it up into the rack.
Following the incident Joanne tweeted that it was a "horrible experience and totally humiliating".
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Stephen said he has filed a complaint with Irish Rail and he did raise the matter with the inspectors on the train.
