Doubt has been cast over the future of the events centre after it emerged at City Hall last night that contracts for the €50 million facility have not yet been signed.
That's despite a sod turning ceremony for the 6,000 seat events centre which is due to take place this Friday.
The Taoiseach and representatives from BAM construction and promoter Live Nation are due to attend the sod turning event.
Minister for Defence Cork's Simon Coveney has insisted the project will go ahead and has denied to Cork's RedFM that it's just a photo opportunity.
However speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Eoin English of the Irish Examiner says the bottom line is that the contracts still aren't signed:
