Doubts remain over possible council merger
It follows unconfirmed reports last week about the recommendation of the expert review group.
Minister for the Marine is refusing to comment on the possibility of a Cork city and a county council merger.
Simon Coveney says he doesn't think it would be 'helpful' to the process to make his views public.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the expert review group will recommend the merger but it's also understood that two of the five committee members are opposed to an amalgamation.
Speaking to RedFM News, Lord Mayor Cllr Chris O'Leary has hit out at the reports saying if they are true, it's a step in the wrong direction.
