Dozens of firefighters battle overnight blaze in iconic Cork building

It took almost 30 fire fighters to battle an overnight in an iconic georgian building on the North side of the city.

Six units of the Cork City Fire Brigade remain at the scene of the fire in Fortwilliam House - a building at the back of the Clayton Hotel Silver Springs.

The alarm was raised at around 4.30am this morning and no one was in the building at the time however substantial damage was done to the building.
