Drink free student accomodation at UCC
Alcohol-free student accommodation is being made available at UCC for the first time. Thousands of freshers will begin their studies in the coming weeks and while many associate the college experience with partying, UCC wants to facilitate those with no interest in boozing. The pilot scheme expects to attract a good uptake - and spaces will be limited. Students will be asked to provide a written personal statement as to why the option interests them alongside their usual housing application. Student Union President Padraig Huaghney explains why the college decided to make this option available : Click PLAY button above to listen to the clip
