Driver fatigue set to be the focus of new campaign

It will be launched by the Rad Safety Authority.

A campaign to raise awarenewss of driver fatigue will be launched by the RSA this year.

It's hoped motorists will become more aware of the dangers of ignoring signs of driver fatigue when behind the wheel.

The problem is often referred to as a silent killer because if a driver persists in fighting sleep while driving the impairment level is the same as driving while over the drink drive limit.

Speaking to RedFM News Brian Farrell of the RSA says drivers need to recognise the signs of driver fatigue and know how to combat it.
