Drop in the price of milk to cost the Cork economy

The comments come from the Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association.
The Irish Creamery Milk Suppliers Association says the rate at which the price of milk is falling is set to cost the Cork economy millions.
Figures from the ICMSA say that the drop in price will take at least €263 million out of the Cork economy compared to 2014 figures.
They are calling on the government to protect the future of farming families by introducing an intervention price of at least 28 cents a litre.
Speaking to RedFM News, Deputy President of the ICMSA Pat McCormack says the current rate will have a big impact on rural economies.
