Dunnes Stores braced for strike action

Strike action is on the cards at Dunnes Stores after an overwhelming majority of workers voted in favour of industrial action Mandate, which represents the workers says the national strike committee will convene on Tuesday, to determine the type of industrial action and the date of that action. In the meantime the union is urging the company to prevent the action by entering meaningful negotiations. Speaking to RedFM News, Mandate's Gerry Light says that they have been trying to sit down with the company for over a year but he claims Dunnes have ignored Labour Court recommendations.
