€100,000 in funding has been confirmed for the Cork Life Centre

This funding is in addition to the €77,500 which comes from the Department of Education annually.

It's also been confirmed to RedFM News that the Department of Education has confirmed to me that they have engaged with Cork Education and Training Board (CETB) and that they are currently commencing a process which will facilitate the provision of additional teaching hours to Cork Life Centre, from within CETB existing staff cohort.

Fianna Fáil TD for Cork North Central Pádraig O’Sullivan has welcomed the news and says, "Cork Life Centre has been very successful in providing ‘out of school education’ for some years now and the Department have also informed me that the outcome of a report currently being finalised will consider a sustainable model of support for out of school settings into the future and the Department has expressed its interest in working with Cork Life Centre to pilot some new approaches in this regard in due course.”

It is envisaged that implementation of the Report on the Review of Out of School Provision will include a review of structures, governance, accountability and education provision framework".
