€500 million for Cork city development projects
€500 million worth of developments are set to transform Cork city over the next three years. The investment projects - include the €54 million events centre on the former Beamish and Crawford site, the regeneration of the Capitol Cinema site and the €60 million regeneration of Páirc Uí Chaoimh. The developments which will also also generate thousands of jobs over the next few years have been broadly welcomed by business leaders who say the city has effectively been neglected over the last ten years. Five of the major projects are due to start within the next twelve months. Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show Eoin English of the Irish Examiner says it's really positive news for Cork.
