The early arrival of flu season in Ireland has contributed to an increase in the number of people on trolleys at hospitals nationwide.
The Health Minister is advising people with flu-like symptoms to isolate themselves and stay at home to treat the virus where possible.

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded hospital in the country with 54 people waiting for beds - nationally there are a total of 573 patients being treated on trolleys in hospitals around the country
