Early childhood workers to protest in Cork tomorrow
The demonstration is in relation to their pay.
Hundreds of early childhood workers in Cork are to set to stage a protest in the city at lunctime tomorrow over their pay.
The rally is coinciding with two other national rallies in Galway and Dublin - and those taking part will call on the government to invest in the sector.
Ireland currently spends 0.2% of GDP on the early childhood sector, compared to an O-E-C-D average of 0.7% - something which childcare workers say is unacceptable.
Chairperson of the Association of Childhood professionals Marian Quinn has been telling RedFM News how lack of investment from the government is affecting everyone, including parents who in turn are having to pay high childcare fees.
