Eircom pleges to help customers after payments glitch

Eircom says it "sincerely apologises" to 30-thousand customers who are being charged with backdated bills of up to 500 euro. The Telecoms giant says a direct debit error linked to the new payments system failed to collect payments for several months. Those affected will see the full amount they owe in their next bill.
