Anglesea Street Gardai are investigating the incident on Parnell Place on Sunday night
An elderly woman is recovering after she sustained facial injuries in a mugging in Cork city yesterday evening
The 70- year old woman was in the city doing some Christmas shopping and was attacked on Parnell Place at the junction of Oliver Plunkett Street and Maylor Street
A man knocked the woman to the ground and stole her handbag however a number of other shoppers intervened and chased the culprit who dropped the bag and ran off
Anglesea Street Gardai are investigating the incident
