Emergency Crews Carry Out Rescue In Quay In Cobh

A member of the public raised the alarm at around 10 o'clock last night
Emergency crews responded to a river rescue in Cobh last night.
The incident took place at around 10 o'clock when a woman was spotted in difficulty in the deep water quay in Cobh.
A member of the public notified emergency services and Valencia Coastguard coordinated a rescue operation assisted by gardai, a fire crew and ambulance.
The woman was taken from the water near the back of the 'World' Cruise ship at the quay and was passed onto an ambulance crew for medical assistance.
