Events Against Suicide kicks off next week

The campaign is to raise awareness to those battling with depression and to spread the message that it's Ok not to feel Ok

Communities across Ireland are preparing to take part in "Event's Against Suicide" next week, to spread the message that it's Ok not to feel Ok.

The inspiration for the initiative has come from the success of the Cycle Against Suicide campaign which raises awareness of the support that is available for anyone battling depression, self harm are at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide.

Event's Against Suicide, which runs from Monday 5th to Sunday 11th of September, is running in conjunction with World Suicide Prevention Week.

Leeside, The 5Km Run for Life will take place on Tuesday the 6th of September from the Blackrock Scout hall and people are asked to run, walk or crawl to show your support.

Speaking to RedFM news, Cycle Against Suicide founder Jim Breen says Irish People still have difficulty speaking about their mental health.
