Extra Gardai Have Been Drafted Into Bandon This Weekend For The Bandon Music Festival
Gardai are warning of a major clampdown on underage drinking
Divisional Roads Policing Units will be carrying out checkpoints right throughout the weekend with extra Gardai on the beat supported by the divisional drugs unit.
Bus and taxi drivers have been warned that their vehicles are public places under the law and any offences committed, such as consuming alcohol in them, can be dealt with by Gardaí. Any bus or taxi found to be overcrowded will also be dealt with.
Speaking to RedFM News Inspector Brian Murphy says they had issues last year with large groups of youths arriving into Bandon in a drunken state and they're warning anyone attending that they will be held accountable for their actions.
