Face Of the Northside Will Not Change If People Are Unable To Buy Homes In Their Own Areas
That's according to local Councillor Thomas Gould
Cllr Gould who says areas such as Knocknaheeny, Faranree, Gurranabraher, The Glen, and Churchfield have a high concentration of social houses which are owned by the City Council.
As a result many people are not able to buy homes in their own areas.
He's calling for the introduction of an affordable housing scheme for thousands of new homes these areas to allow people that are from the area to continue to live there without having to move away to purchase a house.
Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Thomas Gould says while there's a great need for social housing, there's also a need to help people find a way to buy their own homes:
