Families struggle to pay rising rents across Cork county

Concerns have been raised about rising rents across Cork with tenants struggling to secure a reasonably priced rental property.
Housing charity Threshold says the rental cap which was widenened to encompass Ballincollg, Carrigaline, Douglas and Passage West, has done little for people trying to rent in county towns further afield..
The chairty claim, landlords have been hiking up asking prices in these towns and Threshold says a blanket cap would have prevented this from happening
Threshold says families are contacting their office as they struggle to meet rents which are as high as €1500 in areas such as Carrigaline and Ballincollig
Speaking to RedFM News Threshold's Regional Manager Niall Horgan says the Government urgently needs to tackle this issue
