Many families across Ireland will be celebrating Christmas this year without a loved one due to alcohol.
That's according to Alcohol Action Ireland who says harmful drinking can have a devastating affect on families over the festive season.
They say the level of harm due to alcohol misuse is evident in every community, with three people losing their lives to alcohol related illnesses every day across the country.
Speaking to RedFM News Alcohol Action Ireland's Conor Cullen says people to be mindful of the amount of alcohol they consume over the Christmas Period.
