Farmers Blockade Lidl Distribution Centre In Charleville As The Row Over Beef Prices Continues
It's the second blockade to hit retailers in two days after farmers prevented trucks from accessing the Aldi nationwide warehouse in Naas, Co Kildare yesterday.
The protest is being organised by the Irish Farmers Association who say their members are getting up to 50c per kilo of beef compared to farmers in the UK.
Beef farmers say the blockades will continue at distribution centres across the country until retailers meet them to discuss the issue.
Speaking to RedFM News in the past half hour, IFA Munster Chairperson John Coughlan revealed the location of the blockade and said the future of the Irish beef industry hinges on the response of retailers:
