Fears expressed for future of SouthDoc service
Fears have been expressed for the future of SouthDoc as the staffing crisis deepens
The out of hours service is in crisis in rural towns across Cork where the long hours are causing major difficulties for GP's
The service sent an urgent text message to GPs requesting them to contact the service if they were available to work due to unprecedented demand in the Southside and Blackpool clinics
This latest text alert is the third time in the space of a few weeks that the service has been appealing for urgent cover
RedFM News has been regulalry highlighting the staffing crisis at SouthDoc and just four months ago the services' medical director Dr Gary Stack raised his concerns that some SouthDoc centres could face closure in the wake of the crisis
