Fears overcrowding at CUH will continue unless key issues addressed

The overcrowding crisis at Cork University Hospital will continue to escalate - unless capacity and staff issues are addressed immediately.

That's according to the INMO who say nurses are struggling to cope with the volume of patients presenting at the Emergency Department due to low staffing levels and lack of acute beds. 

The CUH was forced to cancel scheduled operations and admissions today, as 460 new patients presented at the hospital's ED over Easter .
