Fianna Fáil accused of breaking election promise and backing Fine Gael Irish Water stance

Last night, Fianna Fáil abstained in voting against a Sinn Féin bill to scrap water charges, which gave the minority government a comfortable winning margin.

In the end the Government's counter motion, which outlined the minority government formation deal reached with Fianna Fáil, passed through the Dáil. 

However, Fianna Fáil says it plans to support future legislation to abolish Irish Water and water charges.

Sinn Féin says Fianna Fáil is acting in coalition with Fine Gael by failing to vote against water charges in a Dáil vote.
