File Being Prepared For DPP After Man Arrested For Questioning About Theft Of Over €400,000 From German Investor
He was released without charge
The man in his 60s was arrested in the Passage West area on Tuesday morning after a 61 year old German investor was persuaded to lodge over €400,000 in an Irish Bank account to buy shares in a bogus company in 2017.
The arrest was one of a number by Gardai in the Midelton District as part of a multi agency crack-down on crime.
Suspects were arrested for unrelated assaults, drug driving and on bench warrants.
Two men were also arrested for questioning about an incident where a Garda was assaulted while on patrol in Midleton town centre on October 20th
