Fine Gael confirm internal review over 'Swing Gate' controversy

Fine Gael has confirmed an internal review will be established to examine the facts surrounding Deputy Maria Bailey's civil case that was dropped earlier this week.

Deputy Bailey met the Taoiseach to discuss the matter today and her radio interview earlier this week, which was not sanctioned by the party.

Following on from that meeting, Fine Gael says a review will be undertaken by senior counsel David Kennedy.

Maria Bailey dropped a personal injury claim against the Dean Hotel after she fell off a swing in 2015.

Fine Gael say she will remain as chairperson of the Oireachtas Housing Committee, while their review is being carried out.
