Fine Gael Senator says opening pubs on Good Friday "detrimental" to national identity

Opening licensed premises on Good Friday may be "detrimental" to our national identity.

That's according to one Senator who is completely against  plans to scrap the law from next year.

Fine Gael's Joe O'Reilly says we must not "give in to every aspect of commercialisation".

Under current rules all bars must close on Good Friday.
