First phase of Cork to Limerick motorway given the go ahead

Cork Chamber's Conor Healy believes the M20 is very much needed to connect the Cork and Limerick regions

Completion of the Cork to Limerick motorway would be a major boost for both regions.

That's according to Cork Chamber who have welcomed the news from the Transport Minister that the first phase of planning for the M20 has been given the go ahead.

Minister Shane Ross confirmed that Transport Infrastructure Ireland will commence early activities on the project, which includes a traffic and environmental study.

This comes just one month after the Finance Minister said work on the motorway wasn't feasible due to a lack of money.

Speaking to RedFM News Cork Chamber's Conor Healy says from a business point of view, the motorway is hugely important.
