First Tallies From The Two City Constituencies Are In
Counting is underway at Nemo Rangers this morning
34 boxes from Cork South Central indicate Sinn Féin’s Donnchadh Ó Laoghraire is leading on 25%.
Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin is second on 20%, Simon Coveney is on 17%, while at this early stage Fianna Fáil’s Michael McGrath and the Green Party’s Lorna Bogue are close on 13% and 11% respectively.
40 boxes from North Central are putting Sinn Féin’s Thomas Gould out in front with a commanding 27%, while Fine Gael Senator Colm Burke is on 15%.
Pádraig O’Sullivan is third on 14%, while it could be close between current TD Mick Barry, former Lord Mayor Tony Fitzgerald and newly Independent Ken O’Flynn for the final seat.
Speaking to RedFM News at the count centre at Nemo Rangers, outgoing TD Jonathan O’Brien says he’s not surprised to see early tallies favouring Sinn Féin:
