Five Pedestrians Have Died On Cork Roads So Far This Year

Yesterday afternoon a 13 year old boy was killed following a road traffic incident involving a truck on Sheares Street.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following the collision which took place near Sheares Street yesterday which claimed the life of a first year student at Presentation Brothers College on the Mardyke.
He was rushed to the nearby Mercy University Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

He is the second person under the age of 18 to lose their lives on Cork roads this year.
Meanwhile the number of people who have died on Cork roads this year has already exceeded the 2019 figure- 17 people have lost their lives so far this year.
