Focus Ireland speak out about homelessness in Cork

It follows the Tánaiste's decision not to increase rent supplement.
A decision by the Táinaiste not to increase rent supplement is having a detrimental impact on families in Cork.
That's according to Focus Ireland who are reporting an increase in the number of families and single people Leeside at risk of homelessness contacting them.
Over the last 12 months rents in the city have increased by 7.5% while at the same time auctioneers have been reporting shortages in available rental properties.
AUDIO: Speaking to RedFM News regional manager of Focus Ireland Ger Spillane says the rising rents mean more people are turning to their service in Cork for help.
