Fourth person arrested in conjunction with knife attack

Detectives arrested a 31 year old man in connection with "horrific" knife attack on a young woman in March 2016.
Gardai in Cork have arrested a 31 year old man for questioning about an attack on a woman when she had her face slashed with a blade just after parking her car near the city centre earlier this year.
The woman was rushed by ambulance to Cork University Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery for what one Garda source described as "horrific injuries" to her face.
Detectives arrested the man at a house in Douglas thi morning as part of an investigation into the activities of an organised crime gang in the city.
The man was taken to Mayfield Garda Station where he is being held under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
This brings to four the number of people arrested in connection with the attack.
