Freedom of the City to be bestowed on the President
The President is due to arrive in Cork in less than hour to receive the Freedom of the City. The honour is being bestowed on Michael D Higgins by the Lord Mayor Catherine Clancy in a private ceremony at City Hall this afternoon. He will become the sixth president of Ireland to receive the honour.
