Fresh calls for a baseline study on cancer rates in Cobh
One person every 11 days is being diagnosed with cancer in the East Cork town
Renewed calls have being made for a baseline study of cancer rates in Cobh.
It follows a public meeting held in the town last evening to highlight the fears of residents in the area about the incidence of cancer.
It recently emerged that one person every 11 days is being diagnosed with cancer in Cobh however the Interim Director of the National Cancer Registry said at the meeting that while cancer rates in the town are above the national average, they are not the highest in the country.
These residents attended the meeting last evening and they told the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM they're looking for answers:
