Funeral of man found in Cork slurry pit to take place

The funeral will take place today of a father of two just over a month after he disappeared while walking home.
The funeral will take place today of a father of two whose body was found in a slurry pit on a Cork farm just over a month after he disappeared while walking home.
The remains of Diarmaid Twomey will be cremated following requiem mass in Gurranebraher at 11 am today.
The 31-year-old's body was discovered around 4.30pm last Thursday when a farmer went to agitate his slurry tank at his farm at Rahaniskey in Whitechurch.
His remains were recovered from the slurry tank by members of Cork City Fire Brigade using breathing apparatus and his body was taken to Cork University Hospital for a post-mortem. which confirmed there was nothing suspicious about his death as he died as a result of drowning in the slurry tank.
His death has been described as "a tragic accident"
