Garda watchdog appeals for witnesses following Mallow incident

The Garda watchdog is appealing for witnesses after an officer shot a man in Mallow
The incident happened on the Mitchelstown Road at around 8:30 last night, when a car failed to stop at a checkpoint and a man received non-life threatening injuries to the shoulder.
Two men have been arrested for drug-trafficking and are being held at Mallow Garda Station.
The Garda Ombudsman confirms the incident involved the discharge of a firearm and an investigation is under way.
