UPDATE: Gardaí appealing for help to identify skeleton discovered outside Midleton in January

Workmen found the skeletal remains while clearing the route of the proposed Midleton to Youghal greenway on the 5th of January.
A forensic examination suggests the remains are of a woman who was over 70 years of age when she died and between five feet and five feet two in height.
Speaking outside Midleton Garda Station in the past half hour, Superintendent Adrian Gamble says the woman was of a large frame, wore dentures and suffered from arthritis.
DNA samples from the bones were sent away for analysis to compare them to samples held in the Garda missing persons' database.
However Gardaí have been unable to match the remains to any known missing person or other investigation currently ongoing.
Gardaí say they are determined to formally identify the woman and say anyone with any information can contact them in Midleton on 021 462 1550
An item of clothing was also recovered which is described as a white nightdress type garment.
