Gardai appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was killed following a collision in the city centre
The male pedestrian in his 40's died after he was struck by a truck at the junction of Coburg Street and MacCurtain Street this morning
The incident occurred just before 11 am this morning and he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
The roads at MacCurtain Street and Bridge Street have now reopened following a forensic investigation of the scene.
Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority says July is the most dangerous month of the year for fatalities on our roads.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is being urged to contact Mayfield Garda Station on 021-4522000.
