Gardai Are Investigating The Cause Of A Fire In The Car Park Of Douglas Village Shopping Centre

The alarm was raised shortly before 7pm yesterday evening
At one stage 12 units and 60 firefighters from the City and County Fire brigades were in attendance.
It's believed the fire started in a people carrier on the first floor of the car park, before spreading to other vehicles.
As many as 60 cars are thought to have been damaged in the fire.
The shopping centre was quickly evacuated, and there are no reports of any injuries from the incident.
The Douglas Link road and Church road remained closed overnight to allow firefighters to tackle the blaze, which was brought under control in a matter of hours.
There are still traffic restrictions in place this morning.
Units of the Fire Brigade remained at the scene overnight and are continuing to dampen hot spots in the car park this morning.
A full assessment of the scene is being carried out, and Douglas Shopping Centre will remain closed for the rest of today.
Speaking to RedFM News, Second Officer at Cork City Fire Service Victor Shine says multiple cars in the car park have been completely burnt out:
