Gardai assaulted over the Easter weekend
An investigation is underway following the assault of a number of Gardai in both Dublin and Mayo
A male and a female Garda have been assaulted in Finglas in North Dublin.
It happened in the early hours of the morning at Aylward Green when they were confronted by a gang of youths.
The Sergeant received facial injuries and the female Garda suffered a broken wrist - both were taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.
It was the second attack on members of the force across the Bank Holiday.
Yesterday two Gardai, also a male and a female, were attacked at Claremorris in County Mayo.
The male Garda was hospitalised but later released.
