Gardaí Describe Their Response To 100 Teens Rampaging Through Cork On Friday As A Success
The teenagers assembled in the city centre following a call out on social media to storm a sports shop
The teenagers who took part were asked to dress in black and cover their faces.
Gardaí say they were aware of the incident in advance due to an intelligence led operation and were fully prepared for all eventualities.
Two people were arrested at the scene and gardaí have confirmed to RedFM News they have identified the schools that those who took part in the event are attending, and they are visiting the schools to talk to students about social media and the dangers associated with anti-social behaviour.
Speaking to RedFM News Superintendent Colm O'Sullivan says the operation was a success for gardaí and most teenagers complied with them on the night resulting in only two arrests:
