Gardaí examine CCTV footage after raid on city bookie's shop

Gardaí investigating an armed raid on a bookie's shop in the city on Wednesday night have begun examining CCTV footage.
Two men armed with a handgun and a screwdriver held up staff at the Ladbrokes bookie's shop in Ballyvolane at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.
The raiders, who were wearing scarves and hoodies, made off with hundreds of euros they grabbed from behind the counter.
No one was injured but gardaí are trying to establish whether the handgun was a genuine firearm or an imitation weapon.
It's not known how they made their getaway but detectives are examining CCTV footage from the area.
