Gardaí In Cork Are Warning Students Not To Fall Victim To Rental Scams
Scams are more common in the run up to the new college term
Students are being advised to take a number of precautions in advance of entering any rental agreement with a private landlord.
The price of of student accommodation in the city has risen steadily and has led to an increase in the number of students seeking rooms in the private rental sector.
Gardaí say its vital that students never hand over a cash deposit, ensure the key to the premises works, and to view the property in person.
