Gardai in Cork seize almost €20,000 worth of heroin

The seizure took place near Watergrasshill on the main Cork-Dublin Road in the early hours of this morning
Gardai in Cork have seized €18,000 worth of heroin during a search operation in the early hours of this morning.
A 46 year old man was one of three men questioned by Gardai from Fermoy after they stopped a vehicle near Watergrasshill at around 1:30 this morning.
The man who is originally from Youghal was arrested and brought to Fermoy Garda Station where he remains detained and can be held for up to seven days under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.
Gardai believe the heroin was routed for the North Cork market and it has since been sent for analysis.
