Gardaí In Cork Urging People To Be Winter Ready

Neighbours and families are also being reminded that they can contact Gardaí if they are concerned about someone.
Motorists are being asked to check their tyres, lights and indicators before the worst of the weather hits, while motorcyclists and cyclists are being urged to consider their journey before heading out on icy or snowy roads.
It's recommended that motorists carry a hi viz jacket, shovel, boots and extra clothing in case they get stuck stuck or have to abandon their car.
Harsh breaking, acceleration or steering can result in a skid, with drivers being urged to slow down due to increased stopping distances during winter.
Gardaí are reminding people to pick up the phone and call them if they are concerned about family of elderly or vulnerable neighbours who may need assistance.
