Gardaí Investigating Timmy Hourihane Murder In Cork City Arrest Man In Connection With The Investigation

The 26 year old man from Mayfield was arrested in the City Centre this morning shortly after 11am.
Timmy Hourihane died at Cork University Hospital on October 13th after he was found with serious injuries to his head and body on a green area in the Mardyke area where he had been living in a tent.
The man who was arrested this morning, is the first arrest in connection with the investigation, and has been taken to the Bridewell Garda Station for questioning about the killing of the father of one.
He can be detained for 24 hours before he has to be charged or released.
Chief Superintendent Barry McPolin of Cork City Garda Division confirmed to The Echo last week that the investigation was at an advanced stage and said Gardaí had put a huge amount of work into the case.
