Gardai Say Yesterday's "Christmas Day" Event Was Difficult To Cope With, Due To High Levels Of Anti-Social Behaviour
A number of people were arrested for public order offences and drug detections
There was also 20 on-street fines for alcohol abuse.
The event, which was banned by UCC Student's Union after last year's celebrations, again saw long queues around pubs in the area and a high level of anti-social behaviour.
Some local residents say they were stressed and upset due to the high volumes of noisy youths drinking in the locality.
Speaking to RedFM News, UCC Student Union President Alan Hayes says the unofficial event made it hard for the college to intervene.
