Gardai target motorists this bank holiday weekend

Checkpoints have been mounted across the city and county this weekend as part of a road safety campaign
Gardai checkpoints have been mounted across the city and county this weekend as part of a road safety campaign.
The warning comes after a new report by the Road Safety Authority found that alcohol has played a significant role in road traffic crashes in Ireland.
12 people have died on Cork roads so far this year and Gardai are urging motorists to stay safe and make a plan before getting behind the wheel.
Speaking to RedFM News Maggie Martin, Research Manager with the RSA says motorists need to ensure that they are not driving while feeling tired.
