Gardaí To Resume Questioning into Cork Dissident Republican Activities

Gardai are set to resume questioning three men arrested last night as part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of dissident republicans on Leeside.
Gardai said the arrest of the three men in Cobh was not directly related to the murder of former Chief of Staff of the Real IRA Aidan O'Driscoll from Ballyvolane.
The 37-year-old was fatally wounded when he was shot by up to two gunmen as he walked along Old Commons Road in Blackpool at around 5pm on December 7th - his funeral is due to take place today.
The three men - one aged 50 and two in their 40s - were arrested in a house in Cobh and were taken to Cobh and Midleton Garda Stations for questioning about the activities of dissident republicans in the Cork area.
Garda technical experts carried out a forensic examination of the house where the men were arrested while they also examined a car which they believe the men had used earlier in the evening.
