Government called on to do more to address homeless crisis

There are renewed calls on the Government to do more to address the homeless crisis.

The latest report by Daft.ie shows the average rent in Cork city now stands at an all time high of €1,087 euro while in the county the average advertised rent is now €778.

The increase in city rents represents an increase of 14.4% on this time last year.

Stephen Large from the national housing charity Threshold says there has been a spike in the number of people contacting them about rising rents:
